Jalapeño Hummus

Who doesn’t love a good hummus? Once you learn to make it at home you will no longer feel the need to purchase any. It’s so simple to make, as all you need is a can of garbanzo beans and a few ingredients you probably already have laying around the kitchen. You can really get creative with this one. You can add or take away extra ingredients. For instance, swapping out the jalapenos for roasted garlic or throwing in some roasted peppers for a roasted flavor. Ok, let’s get started!

Ingredients

  • 1 can of Garbanzo beans
  • 1 Tsp of olive oil
  • 2 Limes
  • 1 Tbsp Parsley
  • 1 Large Jalapeño
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder

It’s best to use a food processor, but a blender can work too. A food processor just makes the process a bit easier. Start by adding the garbanzo beans, parsley, jalapeño, lime juice, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder into your food processor or blender. Blend, and drizzle the olive oil a little at a time, you should have an opening for this on your processor or blender.

Taste for flavor as sometimes I like to adjust by adding salt or lime juice. I find that everything blends perfectly and does not need any adjusting. Try this recipe and let me know what you think.

This hummus is great for sandwiches, snacking, and picnics. You can’t have this laying around as it will go pretty fast!
