Ingredients

  • Tomatillos (6-8 mid size)
  • Onions (1/2)
  • Serrano Peppers or Jalapeños (3-5)
  • Cilantro (1 bundle)
  • Avocados (2)
  • Lime (1-2 to your liking)
  • Powdered chicken boullion as your salt

Okay, incase you’re wondering what a tomatillo is, it’s those weird wrinkly green tomatoes with a shell. They are actually considered a pepper, but they’re more of the tomatoes cousin if you ask me.

Let’s start by pealing the shell off the tomatillos and washing them, along with all the veggies we are using. After washing all the greens, we are going to cook the tomatillos and onions for about 15 mins, or until the tomatillos turn color and the onions are soft. We will add everything on later on.

Now that we have cooked our tomatillos and onions we are going to transfer them to the blender. Here we will add the remanding ingredients (Serrano peppers, cilantro, avocado, and lime). Check out my blender, you can see I have added the cilantro, peppers, and avocado. Then add a bit of water from the tomatillos and a whole lime juice. Next and a bit of powdered chicken bullion, to your liking. This can make it salty so be careful with the bullion.

Blend and taste, you might like to add an extra lime or salt, and presto. This will have everyone thinking you’re a master salsa maker. Enjoy and share!
